China’s agricultural machinery subsidy system has been optimized to include energy‑saving aeration equipment. In several major aquaculture provinces, gearless permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) aerators are eligible for government subsidies. Qualified fish and shrimp farms can receive a percentage of the purchase price covered by national and local programs. Some coastal counties with special fishery development plans offer additional financial support, making high‑efficiency equipment more accessible.
Currently, millions of traditional asynchronous gear‑type aerators remain in service across China. Conventional machines suffer from lower energy conversion efficiency, frequent gear oil leakage that can pollute pond water, and high annual maintenance costs. In response to national dual‑carbon goals and stricter environmental regulations, large‑scale replacement of outdated aeration equipment has become an inevitable industry trend. Field tests at shrimp farming bases in southern China show that direct‑drive permanent magnet aerators can reduce power consumption by a significant margin compared to old models. As a result, small and medium‑sized aquaculture farms are gradually abandoning low‑efficiency equipment and turning to permanent magnet aeration products, driving rapid upgrading of the entire fishery machinery industry chain.
